We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Academic Tutor to join our fantastic team at CHS South.
This is a permanent full time role working 35 hours per week, term time only plus 1 week. The starting salary is £24,998 and the full time equivalent is £29,064 Grade 5.

We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable academic tutor to join our team. As an academic tutor, you will play a vital role in helping students bridge the gap between primary and secondary education. You will provide personalized academic support, helping students develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed. Additionally, you will offer pastoral support to ensure students' overall well-being during this critical time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with target feeder Primary Schools• Conduct one-to-one and group tutoring sessions focused on core subjects.• Help students develop effective study habits and organizational skills.• Provide targeted support to address individual academic needs.• Prepare and deliver engaging sessions and activities that reinforce key concepts.• Monitor and assess students' progress, providing feedback and adjusting strategies as needed.• Offer pastoral support to address students' emotional and social needs.• Facilitate workshops and activities that promote social skills and emotional resilience.• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to ensure a comprehensive support system.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of primary and secondary school curriculum.
- Excellent communication and teaching skills.
- Ability to build rapport and motivate students.
- Experience in tutoring, teaching, or pastoral care is preferred.
- Patience, empathy, and a supportive attitude.
- Flexibility to work during school hours and occasional evenings.

CHS South
CHS South is a 11-16 eight-form entry, mixed, comprehensive school opened in conjunction with Chorlton High School in 2018. Our school provides a full capacity of 1200 in our brand-new building which opened in September 2021.
