What skills and experience we're looking for

An exciting opportunity has arisen for us to recruit a Facilities Assistant to join OHC&AT’s existing Estates & Facilities Team. We require an enthusiastic and flexible person to undertake a wide range of gardening and grounds maintenance duties around the school to help maintain and develop our 56-acre site, including the marking of our school’s sports fields.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out a full range of grounds maintenance tasks, including grass cutting, hedge trimming, planting, pruning, and general upkeep of the site.

Maintain and repair gardening equipment, arranging additional support from specialist contractors where required.

Plan and deliver seasonal maintenance (e.g. leaf and snow clearance) to ensure the site remains safe and accessible year-round.

Prepare and maintain sports areas, including marking and setting out pitches as needed.

Monitor stock levels and liaise with the line manager to order gardening supplies and materials.


Key Requirements:

Gardening experience

Sound knowledge and use of horticultural machinery

Full clean driving license

Ability to carry out the physical requirements of the job

Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a multi-professional team
