Achievement Support Assistant job summary

  • Westcott Primary School is expanding its team and is seeking two dedicated and motivating Achievement Support Assistants to join our community of talented professionals.

We are a compassionate and nurturing school with a strong commitment to restorative and relational approaches. We are looking for individuals who are ambitious, reflective, and genuinely passionate about making a difference for children with SEND and SEMH needs.

Achievement Support Assistant - Key Stage 2
This role will involve working closely with children in Years 5 and 6 who present with SEMH needs. The successful candidate will have experience of supporting children with emotional regulation, behaviour, and social development, both one-to-one and in small groups. A calm, consistent approach and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships are essential.

    Achievement Support Assistant - Nursery
This role will involve supporting children within our nursery provision. Experience of working in an early years setting is highly desirable, and a Level 3 qualification or training related to Early Childhood Development would be an advantage. You will have a strong understanding of child development, play-based learning, and how to support communication and early regulation skills.

For both roles, the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, show initiative, and adapt support to meet children’s needs is essential. In return, you will join a dedicated and hardworking staff team, with access to high-quality support and ongoing professional development.

We strongly encourage prospective applicants to arrange a visit to the school to experience our inclusive and caring ethos first-hand.
