Withernsea Primary School is looking to appoint a dedicated, resilient and enthusiastic Achievement Support Assistant to join our team and contribute to the continued development of our school, in our SEMH Provision.
This is a fixed-term maternity cover position from September 2026 until May 2027, working 31 hours per week.

We are seeking someone who:
Has a genuine enthusiasm for supporting children and helping them to enjoy learning
Has experience of, or an understanding of, supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Is committed to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential
Can build positive, trusting relationships with children who may present with challenging behaviour
Demonstrates patience, empathy and resilience in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs
Is able to use restorative approaches and positive behaviour strategies effectively
Works well as part of a team and contributes positively to school life
Values inclusion and understands how to support a range of learning, emotional and behavioural needs
Builds strong relationships with pupils, parents, external agencies and the wider community
Is organised, dependable and reflective in their practice
Has high expectations for both themselves and the pupils they support
Can work effectively alongside teachers and other professionals to support learning, emotional regulation and personal development
