Admin Assistant job summary

About the Role

You will:

  • Provide a warm, professional reception service and act as the main point of contact for visitors and telephone enquiries
  • Deliver high-quality general administration including correspondence, records, systems and office support
  • Manage staff absence calls from 7am and coordinate daily cover arrangements
  • Maintain accurate data and use school systems such as Arbor and other MIS platforms
  • Support school events, meetings and diary management
  • Assist with pupil welfare, first aid and safeguarding procedures
  • Work closely with the Systems & Operations Manager to ensure the school office runs efficiently

  • Has GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
  • Has administrative experience, ideally within a school or busy office environment
  • Demonstrates excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Communicates confidently with students, staff, parents and external partners
  • Handles confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Is proactive, calm under pressure and able to prioritise competing demands
  • Shares our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
