Admin Assistant job summary

We are looking to appoint a temporary administrative assistant to support the day-to-day tasks of our busy school office. This is a varied role initially until Summer 2026. This person will provide general office support including answering the telephone and greeting visitors; will be involved in the general management of the school office.The successful applicant will have:

  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data protection.
  • Understanding of the importance of safeguarding and child protection in a school setting.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Proficient in the use of IT systems and software, including Microsoft Office and school-specific administrative systems.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and data entry.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently as required.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing needs of the school.
