Admin Assistant/Receptionist job summary

Hartley Brook Primary Academy have a fabulous opportunity for an Admin Assistant to join their team on a fixed-term basis. This is an ideal position for someone who is a team player, has a positive attitude and understands the importance of providing effective admin support in a fast pace school office environment, whilst supporting the priorities of the Principal and School Business Manager. This includes responsibility for managing student information on the school MIS support and providing high quality receptionist duties.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Has experience of providing administrative support in a busy office environment
  • Has excellent IT skills, with the confidence to use Excel and learn new school systems and processes
  • Is highly organised, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a wide range of contacts effectively and professionally
  • Is proactive and flexible and approaches challenges pragmatically to ensure the best outcome for pupils, parents, carers and the wider school team
  • Has meticulous attention to detail, and can utilise systems and data to find the best way to successfully support projects and tasks.

Hartley Brook Primary Academy is located on Sheffield’s Shiregreen Estate on the north side of the city. We are a large primary school, with over 620 pupils, aged between 3 and 11 years old.

We have developed a strong and caring whole school community, which has helped us go from strength to strength. The thoughtful and supportive staff ensure children are at the centre of everything we do. We want to provide our children with the best start in life and support them to become ambitious and prepare for life beyond the classroom.

At Hartley Brook we have high expectations of both learning and progress and ensure children are given the opportunity to reach their full potential. We have an inclusive curriculum and all children regardless of their ability are able to access all areas of the curriculum. Hartley Brooks values (tenacity, scholarship, unity, responsibility, and curiosity) underpin everything we do on a daily basis. We aim to enrich the lives of our children by providing opportunities to attend extracurricular activities. Children demonstrate true resilience and perseverance and have achieved some amazing results in sports events.
