Stevenage Education Support Centre has been rated Outstanding by Ofsted in May 2024. We are a provider of educational programmes to support students who are at risk of permanent exclusion or who have been permanently excluded from their mainstream school. The Centre’s vision is to inspire and enable all students to achieve their full potential.

Stevenage ESC are currently seeking an experienced, motivated and organised Administration Assistant to join our enthusiastic and friendly team, which is dedicated to fostering a supportive environment for our students. Experience in a school office would be advantageous, however, full training will be given.

The Centre is a supportive, professional and forward-thinking provision catering for young people who are at risk of, or have been, excluded from schools. Our job is to re-engage them with education so that they can have a successful future.

To be successful in this role, the applicant must be a strong team player who can work off their own initiative whilst remaining a confident, empathetic and a positive character in the Centre.

You will be joining a dedicated team of inspirational educators who always put young people at the heart of everything they do, ensuring that the diverse needs of our learners are met. This not only benefits their immediate learning experiences but also equips them for future industry challenges.

The successful candidate will bring experience of administration within a busy office setting. We value individuals who are well-organised, self-motivated, and demonstrate a strong ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Attention to detail is paramount, alongside having a sound understanding of IT, particularly Microsoft Office applications. While knowledge of Bromcom would be valuable, we are pleased to offer comprehensive training for those who may be unfamiliar with these systems.

The nature of our work often requires the ability to perform under pressure, particularly during peak times in the school year. Therefore, resilience and a sense of humour are important traits we seek in our candidates. You will be interacting with students, parents, and a range of professionals, which necessitates excellent communication skills.

Our school is firmly committed to safeguarding the children and young people in our care. As such, all post holders will be required to undergo a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check prior to commencement of role.

Should you require any further information, or if you wish to arrange a visit to the Centre, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Closing date for applications is 11.59pm on Sunday 8th June 2025

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by 5pm on Tuesday 10th June 2025

Interviews will be held on Friday 13th June 2025

Employment start date will be as soon as possible thereafter, subject to all pre-employment checks being satisfactorily completed.

Early applications are encouraged, as if we identify the right candidate, the advert may close early.
