Thornhill Academy, part of Consilium Academies, is seeking a professional, organised and enthusiastic Administration Assistant to join our dedicated support team.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a rapidly improving academy, recently graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted (May 2024), with ambitious plans for the future including a brand-new state-of-the-art school building due to commence in 2026.
As the first point of contact for many visitors, parents and students, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our busy academy office while delivering a warm, welcoming and efficient service to our school community.
About the Role
The successful candidate will provide high-quality administrative and clerical support across the academy, assisting staff, students, parents and visitors on a daily basis.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing incoming calls, emails and visitor enquiries
- Supporting student services and attendance administration
- Maintaining accurate records and data using Arbor
- Assisting with school communications and events
- Providing first aid support to students when required
- Managing reprographics, post and general office duties
- Supporting educational visits, trips and academy activities
- Updating academy systems and website information
This is a varied and fast-paced role that requires excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has excellent administrative and organisational skills
- Is confident using ICT systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Has strong communication and customer service skills
- Can remain calm under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Enjoys working with young people and as part of a team
- Understands the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding
Previous experience in an administrative role is essential, and experience working within a school environment would be advantageous.
