Administration Assistant job summary

About the Role

Reporting to the HR & Office Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the school’s day-to-day operations. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the smooth and effective running of a values-driven school community.

35 hours per week (7 hours per day. Work pattern to be agreed with the successful candidate but will include a rota of 8am start every other week)

Your key responsibilities will include:

First point of contact dealing with parents and visitors to the school

Dealing with telephone queries and opening and distributing mail.

Typing of documents and correspondence as required (including confidential minutes)

Maintenance of pupil data on Bromcom to ensure the whole database of all pupils is constantly kept up to date thus enabling the production of accurate internal and external reporting when required for attendance, registration and free school meals.

Maintain registration and attendance data. Obtain information from parents for reason of absence.

Responsible for admissions/new intake data. Forwarding information of leavers to new school.

Keep up to date and accurate filing systems for ease of both computer and hard copy.

About You:

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience in office administration (school or public sector experience is desirable)

Is confident using various computer systems (Microsoft Office, Excel)

Has excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills

Can manage multiple deadlines and work independently

Understands the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding

Training will be provided for the right candidate. Experience in education (e.g. Bromcom, MCAS) would be an advantage, but is not essential.
