Salary: Thurrock Band A Point 1 – 6
37 hours per week
Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 4:00pm, Friday 8:00am – 3.30pm
(30-minute unpaid break for lunch)
38 weeks per year – term time plus inset days

Are you an enthusiastic and motivated individual looking to make a difference in a vibrant educational environment? Thames Park Secondary School is on the lookout for a dynamic Administrative Assistant to join our successful and supportive office team.
We are seeking a self-driven and adaptable team player to contribute to our administrative operations. As a key member of our administration team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing comprehensive administrative support across all school departments.
- Assisting at the reception desk as needed.
- Serving as the primary contact for parents and visitors.
- The ideal candidate will have:
- Proficiency in ICT (email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SIMS)
- Experience with confidential work and clerking meetings
- Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills
- Knowledge of Child Protection procedures
- Previous school office experience (preferred)
- First Aid experience (training available)
- Ability to work under pressure, handle interruptions, and work independently with initiative
- High level of confidentiality and discretion
Thames Park Secondary School opened in September 2020 in Thurrock and moved to our state-of-the-art facilities in 2022 in north Grays. Thames Park Secondary School aims to provide an outstanding education for all its students. The report states that "The positive ethos at the school is valued and pupils contribute towards this in the way they behave and the way in which they take on positions of leadership", at Thames Park, students "capably take responsibility to lead". The report goes on to describe how Thames Park has "a positive learning atmosphere" and how "pupils conduct themselves maturely". The report also states that "Staff enable pupils to consider and discuss the personal issues faced in adult life”.
Thames Park Secondary School is a member of Osborne Co-operative Academy Trust. Osborne Co-operative Academy Trust is a Multi-Academy Trust, with twelve member schools within Essex. All schools in the Trust work in equal partnership and are members of the schools’ Co-operative Society. Thames Park Secondary School. opened to Year 7 pupils in central Grays in September 2020 as a brand new school. Grays is a vibrant, dynamic, rewarding and inspiring place to work, and enjoys excellent transport links. The area is undergoing large scale redevelopment in Europe as part of the Thames Gateway Development. We are part of a £20+ million building programme and will have excellent, purpose-built accommodation with state of the art specialist equipment and facilities in September 2022. We are the newest school in the Osborne Co-operative Academies Trust which comprises of 12 schools.
