What skills and experience we're looking for

Job/Person Summary

We are looking for a friendly and personable candidate to join our school office team. Most importantly you will be first point of contact for visitors to the school and will be managing a range of office related tasks to ensure the smooth running of the administration of the school.

A successful candidate needs to:

  • Be able to prioritise and remain calm under pressure
  • Deal efficiently and politely with telephone and face to face requests
  • Be confident using a range of IT systems including Microsoft Office
  • Have excellent communication skills and a positive, friendly outlook
  • Have achieved a Grade C or above in English and Maths GCSE or equivalent.

Whilst not essential, a working knowledge of Arbor (school information system) would be desirable.

Responsibilities include:

  • Data Management – using Arbor, you would be responsible for inputting and ordering school lunches and ensuring the attendance of pupils each day. This would include the handling of leave requests and issuing penalty notices.
  • School Trips and clubs – Distributing letters to parents and collection of data for preparation for school trips.
  • Financial accounting – managing income from parents for a variety of purposes and banking
  • Managing queries via telephone or face to face at reception.
  • Medical – managing medicines used in school and keeping records. First aid training can be arranged if required.
