Administrative Assistant with Events & Finance responsibilities job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the school and we are currently looking to appoint a flexible, enthusiastic, positive and well organised Administrative Assistant who will fit well in our busy and friendly school office, where no two days are the same.
As a first point of contact, it will be beneficial for applicants to have experience of an office environment and it will be necessary for them to have excellent communication skills, as well as a high commitment to standards, confidentiality and efficiency.
The role is for three days a week, with hours from 8:30am to 3:30pm (one must be a Friday) during term time ONLY, however, there is potential for the hours to increase over time.
Typical daily tasks will include:
Undertaking reception duties including responding to telephone and face to face enquiries
Providing clerical support, such as dealing with class registers, school lunch bookings, maintaining school records, basic typing, email, photocopying and filing
Liaising with parents
Monitor stocks and supplies; place and process orders; check incoming stock deliveries and arrange for distribution and storage
Co-ordinating trips and school clubs
Carrying out routine financial and administrative tasks, including collection of money for school trips and other events
Maintaining and ordering school stationery along with other items from suppliers
An excellent command of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel is essential and a knowledge of Google Drive and Arbor is desirable
The safeguarding of our children is paramount therefore, appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced DBS Check, pre-employment health checks and references, as outlined in Keeping Children Safe in Education (September 2024).
This position is fixed term with the potential to extend.
