30 hours per week, term time only plus 5 PD days

Grade 5 SCP 9-11 (Actual salary £17,479- £18,319per annum)

About the Academy:

Outwood Alternative Provision Eston is an innovative alternative provision centre, principally for students from Outwood Academies in the Northern Region who need additional behavioural, social, emotional or mental health support. In line with our absolute commitment to inclusion in its widest sense, this is an alternative provision for vulnerable students who display challenging behaviours and are often at risk of high levels of fixed-period exclusions or permanent exclusion.

About the Role:

The role of an Advanced Teaching Assistant is to promote the learning and welfare of children by providing practical and learning support to children, including those with Education Health Care Plans, under the direction of the class teacher SENDCo or the extended inclusion team.

In this role you will be expected to assess, monitor and record student development, progress and attainment through our school systems. Using this data you will help to support and implement individual development plans, termly reviews and healthcare plans.

Other duties will include establishing and maintaining relationships with families, arranging or providing resources for lessons and providing short term cover within our behaviours units. As this is an advanced roles, it is essential that applicants have experience of working in a school environment with young people, as well as holding a level 3 qualification that relates to working with children and young people.
