After School Club Assistant job summary

Job Summary:

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and responsible individual to join our team as an After School Club Worker. The successful candidate will help create a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children aged between 5 and 10 years old during after-school hours. This role involves supervising activities, supporting children's development, and ensuring their well-being.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and engage children in a variety of activities including arts and crafts, games, sports, and homework support.
  • Ensure the safety and welfare of all children at all times.
  • Promote positive behaviour and social interaction among children.
  • Prepare and serve snacks in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and incidents.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and school staff.
  • Assist in setting up and tidying away equipment and materials.

Requirements:
  • Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting (preferred).
  • A genuine passion for working with children.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Basic understanding of safeguarding and child protection (training can be provided).
  • Relevant qualifications in childcare or education (desirable but not essential).
