After School Club Assistant job summary

Our school after school club (A-BASC), needs an enthusiastic and caring after school playworker to work 8.15 hours per week, starting in September 2025. This will be to assist with the planning, day to day organisation and operation of the club, providing high quality play opportunities and care for our children.

We are part of the Cambrian Schools Trust. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone thinking of working within a school setting and could potential lead to further opportunities.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a true passion for working with children.
  • Have previous relevant experience (or a willingness to learn, if not).
  • Be committed to working in a school which seeks to meet the needs of each child.

Our breakfast and afterschool clubs provide a vital service to our working families who rely on us to provide a safe, fun, warm and caring environment for their children before and after school. The clubs are run by a fantastic team of experienced staff who know the children well so that they are well-prepared for the day ahead and have a great place to be at the end of a busy school day.

Breakfast club runs every day from 7:15-8:30am, and the afterschool club runs from 3:15-6:00pm.

We are looking for someone to join our after school wrap around team, working on a Monday, Tuesday , and Thursday's (term time only). This vacancy is also open to those only wishing to work one or two of the available days (please feel free to contact the school office to explore this further).

You will be working as part of the wider team of wonderful staff at Charlton Primary School.
