After School Provision Assistant


Location: Warren Primary Academy, Bewcastle Road, Nottingham, NG5 9PJ

Contract: Fixed Term Contract (1 year, with potential to extend) / Term-time only / Part-time

Hours: Monday–Friday, 3:00pm – 6:00pm


About the Role

We are looking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and reliable After School Provision Assistant to support our wraparound care provision. You will play an important role in creating a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment where children can relax, play and continue their development at the end of the school day.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day running of the after school provision as part of a team
  • Help to plan, prepare and deliver high-quality play opportunities that meet children’s developmental needs
  • Provide a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment where children can play freely
  • Supervise and engage with children to promote positive behaviour and wellbeing
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues
  • Share relevant information about children’s wellbeing or behaviour with appropriate staff
  • Assist in preparing healthy snacks and maintaining a clean and organised environment
  • Follow safeguarding, health & safety, confidentiality and behaviour policies at all times
  • Support children’s emotional wellbeing and, where appropriate, personal care or medical needs
  • Contribute ideas to improve the provision and attend training when required

  • About You

    We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children
  • Has good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is able to work effectively as part of a team and use their own initiative
  • Can plan and support engaging activities for children
  • Is organised and able to prioritise tasks
  • Understands the importance of confidentiality, safeguarding and child protection
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude towards training and personal development
  • Is committed to equality, inclusion and supporting all children to thrive

  • Additional Information

  • First Aid training (or willingness to complete) is required
  • This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check
  • The role includes working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
