We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and caring After School Club Leader who shares our belief that every child can succeed and who is committed to providing a high-quality, nurturing environment for our pupils at the end of the school day.

Role Overview

As After School Club Leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and organisation of our after-school provision. You will create a safe, welcoming and engaging environment where children can relax, play, learn and socialise after the school day.

You will plan and deliver a range of enjoyable activities, oversee the wellbeing and safety of all children attending the club, and work closely with school staff, pupils and parents to ensure the provision reflects the school's values and high standards of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operation of the After School Club.

  • Plan, organise and prepare a variety of stimulating and age-appropriate activities.

  • Supervise children during activities, snack times and transitions.

  • Ensure the safety, welfare and wellbeing of all children attending the club.

  • Promote positive behaviour in line with the school's Christian values and behaviour policy.

  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.

  • Maintain accurate attendance and collection records.

  • Ensure the club environment is clean, safe and well organised.

  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety and school policies at all times.

  • Support children's social, emotional and personal development in a calm, caring and inclusive manner.

  • Manage resources and equipment effectively to support the smooth running of the club.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Commitment to the Christian ethos and values of the school.

  • Ability to lead and organise activities for groups of children.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A friendly, patient and approachable manner.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Reliable, organised and punctual.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable

  • Experience working with children in a school, childcare or play setting.

  • Experience of leading or supervising an after-school, breakfast or holiday club provision.

  • Relevant childcare qualification.

  • First Aid qualification or willingness to undertake training.
