What skills and experience we're looking for
Job details: We seek to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and reliable candidate for the role of after school club supervisor. The candidate will take over the leadership of our well-established and thriving provision ensuring that a high-quality provision, hygiene and safety is maintained. This is an excellent opportunity to join a thriving and motivated staff and work with respectful and enthusiastic Applegarth pupils.
The successful candidate will:
- Have excellent organisational skills
- Be punctual
- Communicate well
- Have good teamwork skills
- Respect confidentiality and the potential sensitivities of working in a school, e.g. safeguarding laws
- Have experience working with children
- Be able to demonstrate in their application that they can fulfil the main duties of the job description and person specification as a minimum
Requirements
Experience working in a school environment is preferred, however we welcome applications from candidates from nursery and childcare setting backgrounds.
Experience with the responsibility for supervising pupils / children , leading play/ activities and maintaining hygienic environments is essential.
Level 3 childcare qualification or equivalent. Have a sound understanding of safeguarding procedures. The successful candidate will also be subject to enhanced DBS checks by the school.

Welcome to Applegarth Primary School. Our historic building is in the centre of Northallerton in the heart of North Yorkshire. When our school was built in 1909, it was intended to be the model school in the county. It is our goal to make this vision a reality.
We have big ambitions for our school as we continue to share and develop excellence for our children and our staff team. We welcomed our Headteacher in September 2019 and our Deputy Headteacher in April 2020.
