Afterschool Club Playworker job summary

Our experienced Head teacher and her supportive senior leadership team are looking to appoint an afterschool club playworker in the extended school provision at Red Hill Primary School for up to three days per week. This position is term time only which is 38 weeks per year and fixed term for the duration of requirement in the provision and can be discussed further at interview. The working hours are three hours each school day, 2.45pm - 5.45pm


Key responsibilities include:

  • To work under the guidance of the After School Club Leader, Extended School Leader and Head Teacher to provide child care for pupils attending the After School Club.
  • Working closely with the children providing encouragement, friendship and supervision. To assist the Manager and Head Teacher in offering the children a wide range of play activities and ensuring that the club offers the children a relaxed, informed and caring environment.
  • Establishing good relationships with children - interacting positively with children and encouraging cooperation and mutual support.
  • To be an exemplary role model for staff and pupils
