The role and requirements:

This can result in behavioural and/or attendance challenges which need addressing so we can ensure every student can access great quality education and progress to fulfil their ambition.

The role of Alternative Learning Provision Manager is to ensure all supported students are ready to learn and are well supported through effective management of behaviours, attendance and safeguarding.

There is a full job description attached, but as well as a Degree + PGCE qualification and a SENDCO qualification (or willingness to work towards one) we are interested in evidence of other experience and personal attributes, including:

  • You will be experienced at leading new developments and improvements for students with behaviour and SEMH needs
  • You will be an innovative leader of teaching the curriculum - able to inspire staff and students alike.
  • You are able to set clear expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge students and are experienced at promoting good progress and outcomes.
  • You are a firm, unambiguous communicator able to keep calm and maintain control under potentially challenging circumstances.
  • Organised and adaptable you will be a natural collaborator and possess good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Demonstrate emotional resilience in working with varying behaviours and attitudes whilst maintaining discipline.

The context:

Oasis Academy Wintringham is an Ofsted rated 'Good' secondary school serving young people aged 11-16 in Grimsby. We are dedicated to providingexceptional educationand offer a broad, balanced curriculum giving students opportunities to lead a full and happy life. But we are going furtherto support the most challenged and underserved SEMH students who struggle to achieve through the establishment of anAlternative Learning facility. A place where a cohort of up to 10 students will be nurtured every step of the way in an environment that supports different thinkers and untapped potential that is crying out to be believed in.

Ourdedicated and newly refurbished AP facilityis designed as a multi-cultural hub of learning with fantastic facilities including specialist learning and sensory areas. A dedicated centre supported by a team of professional educators and support staff that have the best interests and safety of our young people firmly at the centre of everything we do. It’s a place any AP manager would love to be involved with.
