Alternative Provision Lead job summary

As an Alternative Provision Lead, you will be at the heart of delivering high-quality, personalised educational support to students who are not thriving in the traditional college setting. You will become part of our Alternative Provision team and will work closely with students, their families, and other educational professionals to oversee bespoke learning pathways that help them realise their full potential and enable them to succeed in our secondary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure effective delivery of tailored educational programs as directed by subject teachers.

Implement and monitor individualised learning plans that meet the needs of each student.

Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to create a holistic approach to student development.

Ensure the smooth running of the provision, including managing resources and tracking student progress.

Act as a liaison between parents, carers, and external agencies, ensuring clear communication and partnership working.

What we are looking for:

Track record working with young people with additional needs, particularly within an alternative provision setting.

Strong skills, with ability to inspire and motivate young people.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Understanding of educational policies and best practice in alternative provision.

Passion for education and commitment to improving outcomes for all students.

Relevant qualifications in teaching, or special educational needs would be desirable.
