Airedale Academy is an 11-16 mixed comprehensive with 1,100 pupils on roll. The academy is, situated in Airedale, Castleford and recently joined Castleford Trust. Since joining the Trust in February 2025, the school has seen rapid improvements in pupil behaviour and curriculum planning.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to support our learning provision here at Airedale Academy.
You will:
- Support individual pupils to overcome barriers to learning.
- Undertake safeguarding training and work with the safeguarding team and professionals to ensure every pupil feels safe and there are clear plans in place to ensure all pupils can attend school / provision
- Complete all paperwork and reviews for pupils attending off-site provision
- Liaise with parents/carers, pupils staff and off-site providers, to support pupils to meet expected targets.
- Alongside the Year Leader, set a clear plan for the re-integration of pupils into school.
- Help to identify individual needs with assistance from teaching staff and Year Leaders and SENDCo as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain positive attitudes in pupils towards the mentoring programme - such as trust and confidence.
- Work with individual pupils, identifying the current barriers to learning, and monitor progress towards set targets.
- Support pupils to evaluate their progress and provide access to learning skills for personal development.
- Act as a role model to pupils and be available to them in unstructured school sessions.
- Support pupils with preparation for the transition to life after school.
- Have the use of your own car and a clean driving licence.
