Apprentice Caretaker job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Caretaker at Richmond Hill School
Duties will include:
Assisting in the security of premises
Contributing to ensure standards of cleanliness are maintained
Supporting the delivery of facilities management
Health & Safety Compliance
Skills required
Able to read and understand documents and instructions
Able to keep accurate records
Able to carry out minor repairs
Basic IT skills and knowledge of online safety
Understand current statutory guidance including ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education Part 1, Safeguarding policies, Prevent Strategy & Equality
Commitment to learn and improve personal skills set
Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
Do you have the following personal skils
Ability to work on own initiative, self motivated
Ability to communicate effectively with staff, external contractors
Good timekeeper, reliable, honest
Professional appearance and manner
Enthusiasm and confidence
Quick and enthusiastic learner & prepared to learn new skills
Qualifications - applicants must have Level 1 English & Maths and a willingness to study to gain level 2
Place of Work - across 2 school sites - West site Sunridge Avenue, LU2 7JL & East Site, Crawley Green Road, LU2 9TL
Hours of work - 07.00 - 11.00 & 15.00-1800 - initially (split shift)
Contract - 18 months to allow training and assessment to be completed
Training - Online training 2-3 hours every 2-3 weeks with on-site observations. Possible occasional face to face sessions would require travel to London.
