Apprentice Chef

Contract: Fixed term for 18 months (or end of apprenticeship)       

Hours:   32.5 hours per week

Working pattern: Monday – Friday 7.30am - 2.30pm

Salary: Apprenticeship Rate (£6.40 per hour)        

Site: Thomas Deacon Academy

Your role:

As an Apprentice Chef at Thomas Deacon Academy, you will cook daily meals, complete all set modules within the apprenticeship course, ensure high food quality and customer satisfaction, maintain hygiene and safety standards, promote and work collaboratively with the catering team. You will show courtesy and compassion to our staff, students and visitors. You will be committed maintaining high standards of food preparation and service. You will adhere to our safeguarding and prevent policies and procedures.

Sustainability is important to us and we continue to source our produce from local suppliers and reduce paper and plastic waste. In support of student learning, we help to develop food awareness initiatives with competitions, food sampling, menu planning and cookery demonstrations.
