Apprentice EYFS Teaching Assistant job summary
We are recruiting for an Apprentice Teaching Assistant – EYFS at Greenfields Primary School and Nursery in Kettering.
About the role
The Apprentice will work under the specific supervision, instruction and guidance of the class teacher to support the teaching and learning activities in the classroom.
They will provide general support to the class teacher in the organisation and management of pupils and the classroom and assist the teacher in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment.
To promote the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring they have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.
32.5 hours per week – 39 weeks a year (term time) – full-time

Who we are looking for
Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in English and maths at C/4 grade or higher
Desire to study towards relevant Apprenticeship Qualification, NVQ Early Years Care and Education or equivalent / NNEB or equivalent
A willingness to acquire the ability to understand the principles of child development and learning processes and in particular barriers to learning
Ability to relate well to children and adults and work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these
Well-motivated, enthusiastic, with a can-do attitude, with honesty and integrity and great team working skills.
A desire to allow each child the opportunity to fulfil their potential, both academically and on a personal level and to be a positive role model to our pupils.
Be flexible and resilient in response to a changing educational environment.
