Apprentice HR Administrator job summary

As part of The Wensum Trust, we believe that our shared duty is to help every child to develop into high achieving, confident, healthy, caring and resilient members of their family and community. We want our schools to be healthy environments where both children and staff can develop and where strong, positive relationships are key. Our schools, therefore, practice a relational approach with children, our families and our communities. We are particularly interested in working with people who share Our Qualities; who will work effectively and flexibly as part of a team.

The Wensum Trust is looking to appoint an apprentice to join their HR team. The successful applicant will have a desire to work with people and to constantly improve and upgrade their skills and knowledge in all areas of HR to ensure the delivery of an effective and professional HR service to colleagues across our 11 schools.

With excellent attention to detail, a professional demeanour and an understanding of the importance of confidentiality the successful candidate will assist the HR team in day-to-day functions. Gaining a hands-on experience in managing various stages of the employee lifecycle. From recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, ensuring smooth transitions and a positive employee experience.

Liaising with various stakeholders, effective communication skills and confidence is essential for this role. As is the ability to work as part of a team and to tight deadlines.

With grades A-C/4+ or equivalent in English and Maths, you will study Human Resources Level 3 over 18 months. The programme will develop your knowledge and skills in HR legislation and policy, HR team functions and processes and enable you to develop yourself as an effective HR practitioner. The programme requires 6.5 hours per week of ‘off the job’ learning (term time only) which is delivered through a blended learning approach consisting of: pre-recorded webinars, 1:1 tutorials, self-directed study and live interactive virtual sessions. The HR team will also provide support and guidance.

This is an exciting opportunity for any individual who is interested in HR and would like to gain experience in the many areas of HR to enable them to develop skills and knowledge and achieve their career aspirations.
