Apprentice Nursery Practitioner job summary
As an early year's practitioner apprentice, you will contribute to a high-quality caring environment for children.
This includes:
Creating warm, friendly, and stimulating atmosphere in Which the children can develop emotionally, socially, and educationally
Under supervision, you will provide all aspects of care for children including personal care, potty / toilet training
Acting as key worker to a small group of children and recording observations and planning for them
Assisting with meeting the personal and emotional needs of individual children
Completing work to desired time frame for Training tutor
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Being aware of the nurseries policies and procedures and ensure they are adhered to
The training you will receive
NCFE/CACHE Level 2 or 3 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner
Functional Skills: English and maths at level I / 2 minimum (unless exempt)
End point assessment
Training completed via work-based employment within the preschool and I day off for study time provided for coursework
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship?
Upon completing your apprenticeship, you may be offered the chance to progress onto the L3 or a possible position and additional training.
What you will do in your working day
Provide a safe environment for children
Assist with daily, weekly and monthly checks around the nursery
Ensure the preschool is clean and tidy
Assist colleagues with developing and maintaining good relationships
Support children's behaviour and act as a role model
Support in ensuring the environment is stimulating and appropriate including layout, display of resources

Level 2 / 3 Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard
Intermediate Certificate for the Children and Young People's Workforce
Level 2 English Functional Skills
Level 2 maths Functional Skills Paediatric First Aid
Level 2 Food Hygiene
Level 2 Health & safety
