Apprentice Sports Teaching Assistant

What you will do

As an Apprentice Sports Teaching Assistant, you’ll support the Sports Lead at our vibrant primary school, working closely with them to provide varied and enjoyable sports lessons.

  • Support delivery of engaging PE lessons and school sporting activities
  • Assist teachers with classroom and pastoral support
  • Supervise and encourage children during breaktime, lunchtime, and after-school sports clubs
  • Support SEND and small-group interventions, helping every child to succeed
  • Take part in school events, sports festivals and competitions

You’ll receive full training as part of your apprenticeship, and have the opportunity to work towards a recognised qualification.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Enthusiastic about working with children and sport
  • Committed to safeguarding, inclusion and teamwork
  • Organised, reliable and eager to learn
  • Has good time-management and communication skills
  • Can work independently and as part of a team
  • Is committed to safeguarding and the school environment
  • Is keen to learn and undertake training

Core Hours

9am-5pm, Monday to Thursday.

9am to 4.30pm Friday.

Lunch - 30 minutes unpaid, daily.

Term-time, plus 1 week.
