At Ormiston Shelfield Community Academy, we are looking to appoint an Apprentice Teaching Assistant to work under the guidance of teaching/senior staff in an agreed system of supervision, to implement agreed work programmes with individuals/groups, in and out of the classroom. This could include those requiring detailed and specialist knowledge in particular areas and will involve assisting the teacher in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources. Staff may also supervise whole classes occasionally during the short-term absence of teachers.
The postholder will be required to select and prepare classroom materials, including developing and presenting displays.
This apprenticeship role is ideal for someone enthusiastic, motivated and eager to start a career in education. As an apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience while supporting staff and pupils in day-to-day activities.
In this role, you will act as a support to pupils for their emotional and social well-being and provide personal care when necessary.
As part of the apprenticeship, you will take part in training and complete coursework towards your qualification.

We are looking for someone with Maths and English GCSEs graded C or equivalent with excellent IT and keyboard skills.
The role requires the postholder to have good communication and interpersonal skills. We are seeking someone who is reliable, punctual and professional.
