Apprentice Teaching Assistant job summary

This apprentice role combines working and earning a full-time salary, while completing fully-funded part time learning (on average one day per week). This will give you the opportunity to gain a Level 3 qualification with the advantage of gaining relevant work-life skills, whilst taking your first steps towards a rewarding career.

This qualification provides a thorough understanding of knowledge and competencies essential for engaging with children or young people in various educational settings. It covers aspects such as classroom support, assessment strategies, bilingual and special needs support, and personal development.

Our Teaching Assistant apprenticeship offers hands-on learning in classroom environments under experienced educators, fostering essential skills for effective student support.

The structured program ensures comprehensive training in classroom management, student engagement, and teaching strategies, combining theoretical learning with practical experience. In essence, the Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship offers a dynamic learning experience, equipping individuals with the skills and knowledge for success in education and a positive impact on students' lives.

When the apprenticeship ends, successful apprentices have the opportunity to became an integral part of the SEN Team within School.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to:

Promote inclusion and acceptance of all students

Supervise and provide support for Students, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.

Assist with the implementation of personal programmes including Individual Educational/Behavioural Plans and Personal Care Programmes

Encourage students to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher

Promote student’s self-esteem and independence
