Apprentice Teaching Assistant job summary
As an Apprentice Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and other staff to support the teaching and learning of pupils across the school. You'll gain hands-on experience in:
- Assisting in delivering, and evaluating learning activities
- Assist in supporting whole-class teaching
- Working with small groups and individual pupils
- Supporting pupils' personal and social development
- Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment

The Teaching Assistant Apprentice Course typically lasts 15-18 months and you would be required to complete the course. Time out of the classroom will be provided to enable study and coursework. The course will be funded by the school. This appointment ends at the end of the course although there may be an opportunity to join the school should there be a vacancy at that time. Normal Local Authority pay grades would then apply for any future appointment.
