Apprentice Teaching Assistant job summary
Apprentice Teaching Assistant
Contract: 30 hours per week, term time only plus 5 days; fixed term in line with National Apprenticeship Scheme.
The Academy are seeking to appoint a highly-motivated and committed Apprentice Teaching Assistant to provide support to students in the Academy on behalf of the Principal and Senior Leadership Team, being responsible for working day to day to support student engagement and education.
The successful candidate will undertake a course of study to work towards the Institute of Apprenticeships Teaching Assistant Level 3 Standard.
The successful candidate will be required to support the education of students, to undertake the necessary preparation of resources, following procedures and internal systems to promote engagement and learning.
An enhanced disclosure and barring check will be a requirement of the post.
Responsibilities include:
- Work with an individual or small groups of students in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff
- Work with individual students with special educational needs
- Implement planned learning activities/teaching programmes as directed by the teacher
- Select, prepare and clear away classroom materials and learning areas ensuring they are available for use, including developing and presenting displays
- Arranging/providing resources for lessons/activities under the guidance of the teacher
- May invigilate exams and tests
- Supporting students emotional and social well-being
