Heartlands Academy is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and caring Apprentice Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in education while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.
The successful candidate will support teachers in delivering high-quality learning experiences, help pupils to overcome barriers to learning and play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, inclusion and well-being.
This apprenticeship is ideal for someone considering a long-term career in education and who is committed to making a positive difference to young people’s lives.
Key responsibilities:
- Support pupils in the classroom, individually and in small groups
- Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
- Help pupils to engage with learning and develop independence
- Support pupils with additional needs, including SEND
- Promote positive behaviour and uphold school expectations
- Assist with supervision during break, lunch and transition times
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Take part fully in apprenticeship training and professional development
- A genuine interest in working with children and young people
- A positive, patient and flexible approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to learning and completing the apprenticeship qualification
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above (or willingness to work towards them)
32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
