Heartlands Academy is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and caring Apprentice Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in education while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.

The successful candidate will support teachers in delivering high-quality learning experiences, help pupils to overcome barriers to learning and play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, inclusion and well-being.

This apprenticeship is ideal for someone considering a long-term career in education and who is committed to making a positive difference to young people’s lives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support pupils in the classroom, individually and in small groups
  • Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
  • Help pupils to engage with learning and develop independence
  • Support pupils with additional needs, including SEND
  • Promote positive behaviour and uphold school expectations
  • Assist with supervision during break, lunch and transition times
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • Take part fully in apprenticeship training and professional development
Qualifications and Skills:
  • A genuine interest in working with children and young people
  • A positive, patient and flexible approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to learning and completing the apprenticeship qualification
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above (or willingness to work towards them)
Pay:Apprentice Rate 1 - £11,253.19 (FTE: £14,566.15)

32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
