What skills and experience we're looking for

A teacher who is able to:

Show strong subject knowledge and a clear understanding of the Art and Design and Design Technology curriculum (Key stage 3 curriculum, Visual Art Entry Level 1 to Level 2 and GCSE Art and Design).

Plan and deliver engaging, adaptive lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with SEN.

Be adaptable and flexible, ready to embrace new ideas and approaches that effectively support students with SEN.

Know, understand and contribute to the Educational Health Care Plans of each student they work with.

Support the wellbeing and educational needs of young people with SEN.

Have a relationships first ethos and an understanding of emotion coaching and the restorative approach.

Show sensitivity in listening to young people’s situations and the ability to communicate positively and effectively to reach solutions.

Actively and proactively look ahead, predicting and preventing barriers to success
