Art & DT Technician job summary

Main duties would include:
To install, maintain and repair equipment and software across the faculty.
To assist in the purchase of equipment.
To set up equipment and software for experimental work or educational sessions and events
To assist in the development and production of resources.
To support students and teachers in the classroom where appropriate by offering technical help and advice.
To assist with staff training needs.
To contribute to the development of policies and implementation strategies.
To carry out maintenance and repairs as needed.
Where in house maintenance and repairs are not possible, to make arrangements for specialist work to be carried out.
To maintain the record system for equipment repairs, and to keep a log of equipment out of school for repair.
To organise and carry out regular electrical safety testing of all equipment.
To be responsible for the day to day management of the equipment and resources.
To carry out other relevant and reasonable tasks as required by the Headteacher. To undertake such other duties and/or training as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job.
Requirement to undertake First Aid Training in order to act as First Aider within school
To be responsible for the safeguarding and wellbeing of children by following and being committed to Academy policy relating to behaviour management, safeguarding, ICT and health and safety
