Art Teacher job summary

The Art Teacher will play a vital role in delivering practical, meaningful learning experiences that support pupils with special educational needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and social, emotional, and behavioural needs. The successful candidate will deliver a rich, structured curriculum in all aspects of art. Lessons and activities will aim to develop independence, self-esteem, and readiness for adulthood and may include supporting with relevant work experience.

As a new school in new buildings, there are exciting opportunities to develop the art curriculum and provide innovative and inspiring learning opportunities.

The Avenue School as part of The Rise Partnership Trust are committed to providing inclusive, high-quality education to pupils with complex learning needs. The school supports pupil aged 4-19, with bespoke approaches tailored to EHCP outcomes. The cohort includes pupils with Autism and range of severe/complex learning difficulties.

Job Purpose

To lead, deliver and continuously develop a high-quality, engaging and inclusive art curriculum which inspires and enables the students to explore their creativity.

To develop the potential across the school site and further afield to develop learning opportunities that develop knowledge, skills and experiences related to growing plants and engaging with nature based experiences.

To empower pupils to develop the confidence required for independent living and successful transition into adulthood.
