We are one of the most successful schools in Luton and have a thriving 6th form with 300 students. We have been consistently described by Ofsted as a ‘good’ school and under Section 48 as an ‘outstanding Catholic school’.
An opportunity exists for a part-time Art Technician to support the management and delivery of the Art & Design curriculum. The daily responsibilities will include any of the following:
- Ordering, organising and recording materials and equipment in line with school policy
- Lay out of classrooms in advance of lessons meeting the needs and requirements of staff within Art and Design Department.
- Be aware of all health and safety issues.
- Ensure that storage areas are well organised and stock levels maintained
- Preparation of materials for ceramic sculpture including the firing of the ceramic kiln
- Responsible for displaying and photographing students’ work including exam preparation as well as the preparation of the end of year Art Exhibition.
The Art and Design Department is hoping to attract a person who is reliable, self-motivated, flexible, able to use their own initiative and work within a team. The applicant does not necessarily need to be skilled in all areas above.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers, prohibition order check and the Disclosing & Barring Service.
