Art Technician job summary

We are seeking to appoint an Art Technician from January 2026. This position requires the provision of practical support to the Art Department. The Art Department is a small and committed team with Painting, Printmaking, Photography, Textiles and 3D subject specialists.

Working closely with teaching staff, you will help prepare materials, maintain equipment, and ensure that art spaces are safe, organised, and inspiring for students. Your contribution will enable students to fully engage with the curriculum and explore their creativity.

You will have good organisational and interpersonal skills; those with experience of working in an Art-based environment will have an advantage, although this is not essential. An understanding of ceramics and operating a kiln would be desirable but training will be provided. You will be required to act as a First Aider within this area of the school.

The post is needed throughout the school week and we are open to a candidate who wishes to work 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per year. Discussion as to the nature of working hours will be explored at interview.
