What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to appoint an Art and Textiles Technician to coordinate the use of practical resources and facilities and provide assistance and support to meet the needs of the Art and Textiles departments to deliver the curriculum.

A great opportunity for an Art and Textiles Technician to join our dynamic and successful team. We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated creative Art and Textiles Technician to help support with the general preparation of art and textiles materials and to help prepare resources used in lessons. You will use your specialist knowledge to assist the Art and Textiles department and support students. You are required to have confident skills in painting, drawing and textiles. Skills in photography and ceramics are an advantage but not essential.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have some experience of working in an art and textiles environment.
  • Be able to order, organise and manage equipment and resources
  • Be able to prepare materials and provide technical support in lessons.
  • Be able to create artistic displays which include students’ work.
  • Have some experience in the care and/or education of children.
  • Experience of working in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
