Assistant Caretaker job summary
Are you ready to make a meaningful difference to our children's learning environment? Hilton Spencer Academy is seeking a dedicated Assistant Caretaker for 25 hours per week with the flexibility to cover the Site Manager when required.

As part of our staff team you will be part of the hub of our local community, supporting and working in partnership with our parents and the wider community in the education of our pupils.
We are seeking to appoint an individual:
- To undertake tasks that maintain and enhance the school overall appearance, safety, security, cleanliness, and efficiency.
- With the ability to prioritise work and have a proactive approach to problem solving.
- With the ability to work efficiently using good organisational skills.
- Who can work well as part of a team and on your own - Able to follow direction and work in collaboration with the leadership team.
- Able to work flexibly, adopt a hands-on approach and respond to unplanned situations - Being flexible with changing tasks or unexpected situations.
- Able to quickly address issues such as minor repairs or emergencies as directed.
- Committed to the highest standards of child protection and safeguarding.
- With an understanding of the importance of personal responsibility for health and safety.
- Who is dependable and trustworthy with tasks and schedules.
- Who can ensure cleanliness, safety checks, and proper maintenance - having a good understanding of H&S and compliance.
- With basic computer skills and good communication skills.
- Able to handle manual tasks.
- With basic technical or safety knowledge - Understanding health and safety protocols and equipment handling and able to undertake mandatory training as and when needed.
