Assistant Caretaker job summary
We need someone who will be responsible for maintaining a clean, tidy, safe and secure environment for our children and adults, but for whom the school feels more than just a place of work. The candidate must be motivated, committed and trustworthy and will ideally live nearby the school. This role does involve interacting with children and being a good role model. Mandeville Primary School prides itself on a strong safeguarding culture and boundaries between adults and children is a priority.
Under the direction of the Site Manager you will become part of a small dedicated team who all work extremely hard to provide the best for our pupils. Suitable applicants will be skilled and experienced in DIY and general maintenance, hardworking and able to use their initiative. Duties will include unlocking the building; carrying out minor repairs, cleaning, maintenance, decorating and helping to ensure that our school premises are safe and welcoming. You will also be required to maintain and update electronic records so some IT skills are needed. Together with our cleaners, you will also need to maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the school premises.
This position is a 16 hour part-time role working between 10.00 and 6.30pm on a Tuesday and Wednesday, 52 weeks per year.
