What skills and experience we're looking for

Are you passionate about great food and outstanding service? Are you an experienced or aspiring leader in food service? If so, we have a role for you. We're looking for friendly, reliable individuals with strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering excellent service. If you're ready to be part of a hardworking and welcoming team in a busy, energetic school environment, we'd love to hear from you.

This is a varied and engaging role where no two days are the same. You will have the chance to work across different settings within the school, including our dedicated Year 7 canteen, the vibrant Sixth Form café and the busy whole-school canteen. This offers a great opportunity to build connections and be part of the wider school community.

We welcome those coming from other catering backgrounds and offer a supportive transition into the school environment. Your transferable skills are valued, and we’ll help you apply them with confidence in a new setting.

As an Assistant Catering Manager you will be supporting the Catering Manager with daily operations, help coordinate the team, and ensure a smooth and efficient service. This role is ideal for someone with leadership potential looking to grow within the catering industry.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A genuine passion for food and service
  • Team players with a positive attitude
  • Relevant experience in catering
  • Food hygiene knowledge
  • Commitment to being part of the school’s journey – someone who understands that children learn best when they’re well-fed and ready to thrive.

What the school offers its staff

What we offer:

  • A strong, supportive school community — many of our staff choose to send their own children here, which speaks to the care and values we share as a team.
  • Receive a generous employer pension contribution of 25% to secure your future.
  • Enjoy exclusive discounts if you hold a Teacher or Blue Light Card.
  • Access a comprehensive health and wellbeing program with 24/7 professional support.
  • Take advantage of our cycle to work scheme to stay active and save money.
  • A welcoming and supportive team that values collaboration — with the added strength of being part of a Trust that offers connection, development, and support beyond our school.
  • Benefit from term-time work, with only 38 weeks per year, giving you more quality time with loved ones.

If you're enthusiastic about food and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you!
