Assistant Catering Manager job summary

Crowdys Hill School is a dynamic and forward thinking special educational needs school for pupils with moderate learning difficulties and complex needs. We cater for over 320 pupils from across the Borough of Swindon and beyond, from the age of 4 up to 19.

We are seeking to employ an enthusiastic part-time Assistant Catering Manager to work every lunchtime from 10.00am - 2.00pm everyday, term-time only plus training days.

The Role

You could be asked to do a range of tasks, including:-Undertaking cooking tasks including frying and following recipes.

• making sure the equipment and utensils are where they should be;Assist with tasks i.e. washing, peeling, chopping and cutting ingredients.
• keeping equipment, fridges, ovens/warmers, work surfaces and floors clean and hygienic;
• deputise for the Catering Manager as and when necessary;
• undertaking cooking tasks including frying and following recipes;
• serving meals and assisting with hospitality;
• assist with tasks i.e. washing, peeling, chopping and cutting ingredients;
• assist in the set up of the dining room for service, clearing away and cleaning between services and after last service.

But you need to be happy to turn your hand to whatever is asked of you and be able to work quickly and efficiently. You will also need to be flexible and work as part of a team.
