Job Description: Assistant Curriculum Leader of PE
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational teacher of PE with second in charge responsibilities. The successful candidate will have the vision and creativity, to inspire students and contribute to the continued development of the PE department.
We are looking for a vibrant and innovative teacher of PE to:
- Deliver and implement an effective, evidence-informed curriculum.
- Foster a learning environment that motivates and enthuses students.
- Contribute to raising student achievement in PE.
- Work collaboratively with members of the PE department.
Our new Assistant Curriculum Leader will:
- Possess a high-quality degree in a related subject area.
- Have a genuine passion for the subject and the ability to ignite this in students.
- Set and maintain high expectations and aspirations for all students.
- Be devoted to our vision that places student well-being and excellent progress at the heart of all we do.
- Be determined to provide opportunities to our students that enrich their life experiences
- Lead departmental initiatives that develop our staff and increase the engagement and success of our students
- Deputise for the Curriculum Leader in their absence, being proactive in the successful leading of the department
- Be proactive in keeping up to date with curriculum development in the subject
- To ensure consistency across Physical Education so that all agreed policies and procedures are followed, setting an excellent example to other staff
- To assist the Curriculum Leader in the development and appropriate implementation of curriculum maps and schemes of work
- To assist the Curriculum Leader in monitoring the quality of learning and teaching within the department through established procedures (observations, learning walks, student voice, data analysis and moderation)
- To support the Curriculum Leader in providing high quality professional support, guidance and training for staff
