Job description

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Curriculum Leader of RE to play a full role across the whole age and ability range. A creative and motivated teacher, you will have a commitment to academic excellence through progressive teaching and learning styles. You will also have the drive and ambition to develop our RE Department into a leading Curriculum Area within the school, locally and nationally. Essential educational requirements

To have taught RE across the age and ability range, KS3 and KS4.

To have taken responsibility for an area within RE.

To have taken responsibility for planning, implementing and evaluation of schemes of work.

Proven experience in the delivery of high quality teaching and learning especially at Key Stage 4.

Proven experience of working as part of a team to secure innovation and change.

Essential qualifications

RE or related degree and QTS.

Evidence of recent further professional development.

Essential skills and experience

Ability to lead and support staff in the development of effective learning strategies and resources required for borderline students.

Ability to analyse student data, provide appropriate intervention to secure student progress.

Knowledge of current educational thinking regarding raising achievement in RE through teaching and learning styles.

To develop resources which: facilitate personalised learning; ASL and develop an enthusiasm for learning RE.

The skill to coach others to enhance the quality of teaching in RE.

An awareness of the agenda for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Knowledge and understanding of Positive Behaviour Management.

The ability to use a range of classroom management and teaching strategies.

ICT literate.

Effective Interpersonal skills.

Teamwork and leadership skills.

The ability to network with other establishments to research best practice and implement findings where appropriate.
