Assistant Finance Manager (0.8FTE) job summary
We're looking for a talented and enthusiastic Assistant Finance Manager to join our team in a rewarding dual school role working two days a week at The Cherwell School and two days a week at The Swan School. This is a unique opportunity to bring your financial acumen to our bustling schools, working alongside dedicated colleagues to ensure our resources are managed effectively, helping us create the best possible learning environment for the students across the two schools
You will:
Be a Financial Navigator: Manage the school's budget, financial planning, and reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations.
Support Strategic Growth: Contribute to long-term financial strategies, helping us allocate resources to innovative projects and essential school improvements.
Oversee Operations: Handle payroll, invoicing, purchasing, and banking, ensuring smooth and efficient financial operations.
Collaborate and Advise: Provide clear, insightful financial advice to the Headteacher, Governing Body, and other senior leaders, empowering them to make informed decisions.
Champion Best Practice: Maintain robust financial controls, policies, and procedures, always looking for ways to enhance efficiency and transparency.
Embrace Technology: Utilize our financial management systems to their full potential, ensuring data integrity and effective reporting.
We're seeking someone who is not only excellent with numbers but also a fantastic communicator and a collaborative team player.
Financially Savvy: You'll have a strong background in financial management, ideally within an educational or public sector setting, with relevant qualifications (e.g., AAT or equivalent experience).
A Detail Detective: You have an eagle eye for accuracy and a commitment to maintaining meticulous financial records.
A Problem Solver: You approach challenges with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
Collaborative Spirit: You enjoy working as part of a team and can effectively share responsibilities and communicate with a job-share partner.
Tech-Comfortable: You're proficient with financial software and ready to embrace new technologies.
Warm & Approachable: You're able to build strong relationships with colleagues, parents, and external partners, explaining complex financial information clearly and patiently.
