Assistant Head of House/Cover Supervisor
Due to internal promotion, a vacancy has arisen to join The Hereford Church of England Academy as an Assistant Head of House/Cover Supervisor, supporting The Academy to operate efficiently and enabling the classroom staff to focus on providing the best possible education for our Students.
What are we looking for?
This is a high-profile role within the Academy regarding pastoral issues. The post holder reports to the Assistant Head Teacher and liaises with other Senior staff and teaching staff. The post holder will contribute to overall good order within the Academy, including improving attendance and ensuring excellent behaviour management, and promote the well-being and general progress and achievement of students. Safeguarding and wellbeing of our students underpins everything we do at The Hereford Church of England Academy and the applicant will be expected to support and develop this.
The applicant will demonstrate that they have the potential to provide cover for lessons on a planned and emergency basis, ensuring the safety, good behaviour and effective learning for all students. Training will be provided.
Applicants will have excellent communication, liaison and interpersonal skills, the ability to manage difficult situations in a firm and sensitive manner, five GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent), be conversant in Microsoft Office, hold a First Aid at Work qualification, or be willing to train. Applicants will demonstrate that they have personal impact, self-confidence and presence, display energy, enthusiasm, commitment and perseverance. The ability to adapt to changing circumstances and embrace new ideas are essential. Experience of working in a similar role would be an advantage.
