Assistant Head of School (Grand Union Village School) job summary

An exceptional opportunity to be part of creating a new special school.

The Eden Academy Trust are looking to appoint an Assistant Head of School for Grand Union Village School. The position will commence in January 2026.

We are seeking to appoint an excellent practitioner into the role of Assistant Head to be part of the senior leadership of the new Grand Union Village School. An understanding of special needs practices is important plus creativity, flexibility, and a passion for making a difference.

Grand Union Village

Grand Union Village is an 80-place primary special school in the south of Hillingdon; for children 4 - 11 years with severe learning disabilities, profound and multiple learning disabilities and complex needs, including autism. Grand Union Village will be based on Ballinger Way, Hayes, Northolt. UB5 6GG.

The school is designed to accommodate the latest developments in child-centred learning and therapy provision for children including a hydrotherapy pool, sensory provision and purpose-built therapy rooms, which will provide additional learning and sensory opportunities for our pupils.

The role will include:

  • Professional leadership and management which ensures the effective day-to-day organisation of teaching and learning, and be the lead in ensuring a high quality of education for all pupils and continually improving standards.
  • The provision of excellent models of classroom practice by maintaining an appropriate teaching commitment.
  • Day to day duties to support the Head of School
