Two Assistant Head of Year Positions: One Permanent, One Temporary Maternity Cover ASAP- October 2026

We are looking to appoint a motivated, enthusiastic and diligent Assistant Head of Year to join our busy and dedicated Pastoral Support Unit. The post holder will work closely with a Head of Year, team of tutors and other school colleagues to ensure the students’ personal and wellbeing needs are met and allows students to shine brightly and thrive in their endeavours.

The strength of the department is their focus on student support and building excellent communication between staff, students and families. We are looking for a committed role model who can establish a positive ethos for all students with a focus on attendance, positive behaviours, home-school communication, and wellbeing and kindness.

The successful candidate will become an essential and valued member of the pastoral team and we are looking for a candidate that shares our ethos of supporting and caring for our community and will relish new challenges and has a willingness to participate in professional development and opportunities.

You should have knowledge of barriers facing young people and support strategies as they navigate their educational journey, interests and ambitions for their future. Good organisational and communicational skills are required as you will be working with multiple different groups of people - students, families, colleagues, and external agencies, with a holistic approach for every child.
